McGowan makes large scale installations that play upon the dualities of painting and sculpture. Preoccuopied with liminal space the work reflects on the abysses which puncuate everyday contemporary life. There is a threshold between what was and the next, a place of transition, waiting and uncertainty.

Selected for her first solo show, 'Fading Memories', at The Hyde Bridge Gallery, Sligo in February 2017 and was shortlisted for The RDS Visual Art Awards 2017 as a result of her degree show.
