Filmpoetry...
...is 'an expression of experience by experience' - Maurice Merleau-Ponty (1968, p.155)

Artist Statement:

My film practice concerns experimental film production and exhibition. Through these methods I explore themes relating to the sense of absence and presence, memory and our emotional and physical connection to nature and the landscape.

CURRENT RESEARCH:

I am an AHRC and SGSAH funded PhD researcher and filmmaker in the department of Communications, Media and Culture at Stirling University, Scotland.

My practice-based research explores the phenomenological potential of the filmpoem through production and exhibition methodologies. Phenomenology is the study of subjective experience. Through the production and exhibition of my own filmpoetry, my research aims to explore how this format can provide a sensorial embodied experience within either a site-specific gallery space or a traditional screening context.
