My work explores the concepts of semiotics and skeuomorphism that experiment with the interpretation of digital images. My paintings attempt to capitalise the agency of contemporary painting and speculation from our climate of technological culture. This semantic of painting is not principally dissimilar to Modernist Abstraction, experimenting with forms, materials and innovative design, but it can be when using Post-Modern strategies of forms that instead resemble technology and not the opposite, using cheap DIY and having practical inconsistencies. My research and the connotations of my digital paintings combine universal signs with my individual interests, equal to interpretation by all.
I am currently studying at The Glasgow School of Art, BA(HONS) Painting and Printmaking.
