My work focuses on the immersive spaces of illusion; the real and the unreal.
Thinking about painting as an entry or exit point, I ask the viewer what and where the boundaries of the space in which we live are.
I am fascinated by the inherent surface-tension of painting, the materiality of it and the idea of making a comment about the different ways we see.
A large part of my research is about access to fictional space; outside and inside, inward and outward. I am interested in our desire to explore the unknown in search of paradise, new life or an escape to some other sublime or utopian place.
