Living tissues are constantly in motion. Cells push, pull, divide and rearrange, creating patterns that change through space and time. Although we can see the shapes these forces produce, the forces themselves remain invisible.
Through moving images of living tissues, computer simulations and maps of cellular forces, Chara brings these hidden mechanics into view. Together, we will explore how physics, mathematics and computation reveal the interactions through which living forms emerge, grow and regenerate.
Osvaldo Chara is a biophysicist at the University of Nottingham and UADE University in Argentina. His research explores how interactions between cells shape tissues during development and regeneration.
